First office visits are usually 90 minutes. Two hours may be needed for complex and complicated medical cases.

Return Office Visits

Return visits are generally 30-60 minutes depending on your individual needs and main focus for the return visit.

• Straightforward Complexity (CPT code 99212): $100
• Low Complexity (CPT code 99213): $125
• Moderate Complexity (CPT code 99214): $150
• High Complexity (CPT code 99215): $200

Medical Decision Making

The following may be used to help you estimate your level of complexity and cost for your upcoming visit:

Medical decision making is based off of the number and complexity of problems addressed at the encounter, amount of data reviewed and analyzed, and risk of complications. Symptoms may cluster around a specific diagnosis but each symptom is not necessarily a unique condition.

Straightforward Complexity:
a) 1 self-limited or minor problem

Low Complexity:
a) 2 or more self-limited or minor problems, OR
b) 1 stable chronic illness, OR
c) 1 acute, uncomplicated illness or injury

Moderate Complexity:
a) 1 or more chronic illnesses with exacerbation, progression, or side effects of treatment, OR
b) 2 or more stable chronic illnesses, OR
c) 1 undiagnosed new problem with uncertain prognosis, OR
d) 1 acute illness with systemic symptom, OR
e) 1 acute complicated injury

High Complexity:
a) 1 or more chronic illnesses with severe exacerbation, progression, or side effects of treatment, OR
b) 1 acute or chronic illness or injury that poses a threat to life or bodily function
